This is the fourth print screen of my double page spread. I've made the image smaller so it fits exactly half way throughout the double page spread, I've added a page number down the bottom of the right page as well as the name of the magazine (Stereo)

2nd Print Screen of Double Page Spread
This is the second print screen of my double page spread. Since the last post I uploaded, I've added a quote for the interview "...We just want to rock" I added another image of the band, but this time the image is reasonably smaller, and I've added a title and a subtitle. I added the small iamge because I thought one image on the double page spread doenst look like enough and the image is colourful which makes the double page spread more colourful. For the title and subtitle, I used the same effects (bevel and emboss) to make it stand out more, I also used the same font, but the difference is the colour and the size of the writing. I used different colours because the title I want to look bold, so I used a bold colour.
1st Print Screen of Double Page Spread
This is the first print screen of my double page spread. I havent done much apart from use one half on my double page spread as a large image of the band 'Tyrell', I've also shadowed this image to make it look more bold, so if you look closey you can see a line seperating the image to the other blank half.

Analysis of contents
For my contents, I think I done well, I included quite a lot (contents of magazine, image of editor, image of Stereo Festival 2012, website etc). It looks quite bold.
5th Print Screen of Contents
This is the fifth print screen of my contents, I've added a promtion (subscription offer), a website name for my information or a barcode which they can scan to take them straight to the website on their phone. I done this because it makes the magazine look more realistic.
4th Print Screen of Contents
This is the fifth print screen of my contents. As you can see, since my last print screen I've added quite a lot of things to the contents. I've added two subtitles, this informs the customer aabout whats normally in the magazine (regulars) and whats not (features). Because my magazine isnt cheap (£2.20 per magazine). I've added quite a lot of pages so the customers get their moneys worth. I've added the page number, what the page consists of and a quick discription, for example, '40-50: Tyrell-Talk: about love life and fame'.
3rd Print Screen of Contents
This is the fourth print screen of my contents. To this I've added an image of myself with the title to the image of 'The Editor'. This informs the customers about what I (the editor) looks like so people can assume what the contents of the magazine is going to consist of.
2nd Print Screen of Contents
This is the second print screen of my front cover. I've added a photo of the stereo festival 2012, I done this because I want the customer to realise how good it was, and for better chance of this happening I added two titles to the image 'Stereo Festival 2012' which informs the customer what the image is of, and the subtitle 'it was amazing' which I used in quotation marks which shows the customer how good the Festival was.
1st Print Screen of Contents
This is the first print screen of my front cover. Its not much detail apart from the title and subtitle. I used the same font for the title of the contents as I used for the name of the magazine to make it stand out.
Plan for contents
This is the plan for my contents, its not very detailed. The title of the page is 'contents', I will use two images to make it look even more bold and stand out more. The slogan I used on the front cover 'life is loud' is something I will also use on the contents and I will use similar, if not, the same writing for the contents that I used for the front cover, this is because it will make the magazine look like the pages belong in the same magazine. I will also give my magazine a website name etc to make the magazine look more realistic.
Analysis of Front Cover
My front cover I think went well. I did expect it to be worse as when I started my front cover, I was still quite unsure how to use photoshop. I like how the image fits in with the page and I think my use of the magnetic tool on the front cover's image went really well as theres not much left out from the orignal background. I made the image more bold by adding a line called 'out-glow'. I used two fonts for the front cover, one font for the title, this font I thought stood out, especially with the colour, and the second font I used throughout the rest of the front cover, I did this because I thought it looked neat. I tried my best to keep with the likes and dislikes of my audience (likes: bold dark colours, dislikes: bright colours), and I think the colours I used fit my genre perfectly (indie-rock).

7th Print Screen of Front Cover
This is the seventh print screen of my front cover, and once again I havent changed a lot, I've added another sentence underneath the band name which is a quote that has been taken from the double page spread "... We Just Want To Rock" I done this because I thought it would have more chance of people buying it. I also made the fonts smaller so theres more text, images etc that I can fit onto the page.
6th Print Screen of Front Cover
I havent changed a lot on this print screen of my front cover, all I've done is rather than have a large text box with the pricing of the magazine, I made it smaller, but added more to the text box. I added the sentence 'No.45 March 2013 £2.20'. I done this because I felt this was more informative rather than just have £2.20 as it informs the reader about the issue number, the date it was published and the pricing. I also changed the colour of the font to a white colour and added effects to make it stand out more. I've also moved the barcode down more but still kept it to the right hand side.
5th Print Screen of Front Cover
This is the fifth print screen of my front cover. I've changed the placing of the name of the band and the sentence underneath the band name as well as adding a few headlines. I changed the placing of the band name and setence underneath it to make it fit in with the headlines. When adding my headlines, I found it hard to choose a suitable colour for the writing, as there is a mix of both dark colours (image and title) as well as whites (the main background), so choosing a suitable colour that would stand out and could easily be seen was a challenge, but I fianlly decided on a light brown colour, but to make it stand out I chose three different effects which were: drop shadow, inner glow and Bevel and Emboss, and the outcome of adding these effects to my headlines were a success and I think they stand out, as the lining around the headlines are dark so it can be easily read even when the headlines are on the white background, and I also used inner glow to make the writing stand out, whether it was on the white background or the main image.
4th Print Screen of Front Cover
This is the fourth print screen of my front cover. I've only changed a small amount since the last time I uploaded a print screen. I've added a barcode and the price. I placed the barcode on the right hand side of my magazine because when my magazine is on the shelfs in supermarkets, shops etc, the public will be able to see the barcode. The same goes for the price, the price is just below the barcode because in Kerrang! magazine, they do the same with most of their magazines.

3rd Print Screen of Front Cover
This is my third print screen of my front cover. As you can see I've added the band name, I used quite a dark colour for the band name, and tried to make it stand out my using two different effects for it, these effects were 'drop shadow' and 'inner shadow'. I also used the same effects for the catchy slogan underneath the name of the band 'Exclusive interview'. I used this cathy slogan to inform the audiene that inside is a exclusive interview special, which would hopefully stand out to my audience.
2nd Screen Shot Of Front Cover
This is the second screen shot of my front cover. As you can see I've added the title 'STERO!' as well as a slogan 'life is loud'. I chose the font of the title because its bold and makes the magazine stand out, and to be it looks eye catchy. I chose the colour of the title because once again it looks bold and fits my target markets likes which were 'dark bold colours'. I chose the font of the slogan because it makes the slogan look loud especially with the exclamation mark after it. I chose the colour because once again it suits he likes of my target market.

1st Print Screen of Front Cover
This is the first print screen I've taken of my music magazine front cover. As you can see I've put the background as an A4 international paper, used the magnetic tool to crop out what I wanted of the previous photo and copy and pasted it into the front cover.
Whats next? I'm now going to add the title, the subtitles, barcode etc.

Gerenal planning for my Indie-Rock magazine
The genre of my magazine is Indie-Rock because I feel likes its an easy genre to do and its my favourite genre of music. The weekly price is £2.20 because thats an average price for a weekly magazine, also thats how much Kerrang! costs in the UK. The likes and dislikes fit Indie-Rock fans so would be more appealing to the audience. The name of the band 'Tyrell' is because the band members names have the first letter of their names as T, L, and R, so I put these letters together and came up with a boy band name called 'Tyrell'. The magazine name is called 'Stereo' because it makes the magazine look bold, like its loud. I will make sure the fonts of my magazine is bold and stand out to attract as many customers as possible, as well as the colours being bold. The inducements mixes in with the USP, I decided on that inducement because it definitely makes the magazine stand out, and more chance of making a profit, and the USP mixes in because its bascically the inducements thats my unique selling point.

Final planning for front cover of Music Magazine
This is the final planning for my front cover of my music magazine. I took bits of multiple Kerrang magazines to help me plan for my rock magazine. I'm hoping the more busier the front cover is the more it would stand out.
Also, the circle next to image of band would be a catchy slogan, for example 'voted no.1 rock band of 2013'

Kerrang! Music Magazine
Although the Kerrang! magazine is a rock magazine, this magazine is the closest magazine I could find that would be similar to my magazine, as my magazine is an Indie-Rock magazine. An Indie-Rock magazine is a mix of both Indie and rock, this means that the colours that I will include, the clothes my bands going to wear, the font etc is going to have to be based around the genre Indie-Rock. Kerrang is a magazine that I'm going to base my music magazine around, this is going to help me do my research for my magazine too. The target audience for Kerrang! magazine is going to be similar to my target audience, which is people who like Rock music, and above the age of 16. I would also use similar colours to the Kerrang! magazine, I'm going to use both bold, dark but vintage colours to make it obvious tha the genre of the magazine is Indie-Rock.

Final preliminary task (Contents)
This is the content page of my Preliminary Task. I didnt plan my contents page out so I dont have anything to compare it too.
I've done a logo at the top left hand corner of the page, I've used the logo in both the front cover and the contents. I've also used the same font of writing. This is because you can tell that the front page and contents belong to the same magazine, so if for example, the two pages (front cover and contents) arent connected, like stapled etc, and they both got dropped, you could tell what pages belong together.
Things that went well: I was able to copy the logo to the best of my ability from my front cover to my contents. I also was able to use the magnetic tool slightly better in comparison to my front cover, as the photos up the top dont have much of an outline from the orignal background.
Things that went badly: Theres not much going on in my contents and is quite boring. Theres two pictures, text and a logo, so when it comes to doing the real thing, I will make sure theres more going on within the contents to make it look more professional. Also, I say I done better using the magnetic tool in my contents comapred to my front cover, but its still not the best I could do as the image at the bottom of the contents could have been cutted out more carefully so that none of the orignal background is left on the image.

Final preliminary task (Front Cover)
This is the front cover of my Preliminary Task. From my first plan, I've changed the front cover in mulitiple ways. I havent included a pricing of the magazine on the final draft on preliminary, whereas on the plan, I did include a pricing. On my plan, I also laid the preliminary task so there would be six headlines on the front cover, whereas on the final plan, I only included three headlines.

Things that went well: considering this was my first time, I was able to add a background of Paris in, use the magnetic tool to cut the boy out of his original background and add him into the new background, and I found adding text and shapes to my work really easy.
Things that went badly: I didnt use the magnetic tool very well because surrounding the boy a little bit of his orignal background, this could have been prevented if I was to be more careful when using the mangetic tool. I also think that I could have laid the headlines out in a more neater and professional form, because they currently look a bit messy and unprofessional.

Start of Preminlary
This is thet start of my preminlary task, the school magazine. I used a magnetic tool that allowed me to crop out the boy from the original background and place him in the Effiel Tower backgroud.

Layout of preliminary
This is an image of the layout of the school magazine. I've colour coded everything so its easier to understand.
The top boxed which is colour coded with the colour dark blue is the title. The title will be eye catchy which I hope will attract more people. I will make the title eye catchy by making it a colour and a font that will stand out.
Below the title box is a small pink box, this pink box will be where the pricing is for the magazine. It won't be overly expensive as my target market is school children (including sixth formers), and they won't want to be paying for an expensive school magazine.

The multiple boxes that are shaded with the colour light blue are where the most important headlines will be placed. This will once again hopefully attract my audience because to some of my target audience may find the important headlines that are shown on the front page interesting, resulting in them buying the magazine.
Lastly, the large orange box in the center of the page is going to have a large image. Either of the head boy/girl or an image of who's done something inspirational.

Plan of preliminary task 1
My target audience for my school magazine is 14 to 19 year olds (which includes sixth formers). I chose this target audience because this age group covers most students within the school and in this age range, most people have similar reading abilities. Also, my school magazine is aimed at both females and males.
The language that I will use in my school magazine is informal language. This is because it would hopefully meet the students standards as they don't want complex words and they want to be entertained.
The content (which includes audience expectations) is that my target audience would expect the managzine to be entertaining but informative. This could be done by the magazine containing some news about the school as well as some entertainment, like a few games etc.
I would have multiple images within my school magazine, in the post I made after this, I uploaded a plan of what the layout of the magazine would look like. I would have one main image in the center of the front cover which would be of a student. This image would be a large image, so it would stand out. Other images would be with the important headlines on the front cover, these would be reasonably smaller than the large one in the center of the front cover.
I would attract my target audience by making the magazine stand out and making it eye catchy. I would do this by using a variety of different colours and different font styles. I wouldnt be overly girly with the colour and font, for example using pink swirly fonts beucase my magazine is aimed at both genders.
